The first string of tournaments wrapped up yesterday at the Westchester County Center as 64-60 to take home the boys basketball championship and White Plains outlasted Poughkeepsie 47-43 in the consolation game.
On the girls side of things 51-39 in the tournament championship while Brewster edged out Kennedy 38-28 in the tournaments consolation game.

Two new tournaments will begin today at noon as five more games are scheduled to tip off every two hours. Check out the complete bracket for scheduling and results and remember that the charges are $5 a ticket per day and $5 to park.
Iona College volleyball coach John Killingbeck announced yesterday that his winter skills clinic will be held on Jan. 8. The clinic is from 1 to 4 p.m. and it is open to students from grades six through 12. The cost is $50 for preregistration and $60 for walk ups. On track
The Dominican College women’s track team will open its season on Feb. 11 at the Lafayette Rider Winter games, and will compete in nine meets.
Dominican will participate in the Armory Collegiate Challenge on Feb. 23, and then will travel to the Columbia Last Chance Meet on the first weekend in March.
The season wraps up with the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) - East Coast Conference (ECC) Challenge scheduled on May 4 in Lakewood, NJ.
Stephanie Roberts of Suffern is expected to compete in sprints for coaches Abdias Suero in his third year, and newcomer Jamsel Reyes.
The men’s and women’s teams at St. Thomas Aquinas College are back in action on Jan. 6, competing in the Metro Coaches Invitational at the New Balance Track and Field Center.
Saints doing swimmingly
Senior Kristen Lange of Pearl River achieved a milestone as the Siena College women’s swimming team blasted Sacred Heart, 121-78, in the Saints’ penultimate home meet of the season.
The Saints (9-3) were coming off nearly a month layoff, but showed no signs of rust.
The win held special significance for Lange, and teammates Katie Carew and Emily Schultz. They have now won 34 career meets, tying the triumvirate with the class of 2011 as the two winningest classes in program history. The team is now one win shy of matching the program’s single-season win record of 10, with four meets left on the schedule.
Siena is off until the New Year, when the Saints go to MAAC rival Canisius on Jan. 14 for a tri-meet that also features Gannon University.

Highlights: Tyler Sayre led the Falcons in the first half picking up 19 of his 26 points in the first two quarters. Sayre was named the tournament’s M.V.P. Jack Sullivan added 20 in the win.
