Coming into tonight’s game at Spring Valley Sayre stands just 10 points shy of breaking Antoine Duvert’s career scoring record for Albertus Magnus boys varsity basketball. Duvert scored 1,066 career points from 1991-94.
The Falcons hosted Spring Valley in early January and Sayre picked up 26 points as Albertus Magnus won 58-49.

Score: Albertus Magnus Won 61-45
Highlights: Pat McGuinness led the way for the Falcons with 18 points as Tyler Sayre added 17 in the win. Rob Tutein led Nanuet with 16 points in the loss.
Sport: Ice Hockey (Friday)
Game: Clarkstown vs. North Rockland
Score: Clarkstown Won 6-1
Highlights: Mike Gillespie led the Clarkstown offense with two saves and Mike Levy held down the fort with 25 saves in the win. Jeffrey Cool picked up the lone goal for North Rockland in the loss.
Sport: Boys Basketball (Friday)
Game: Clarkstown North vs. Clarkstown South
Score: Clarkstown South Won 77-61
Highlights: Mike McCahey and Clayton Roker led South with 22 points each in the win. Vinny Lleshaj led North with 19 points in the loss.
Sport: Wrestling (Saturday)
Game: Divisional Tournament
Highlights: Clarkstown North’s Ryan Becker pinned Clarkstown South’s Liam Gallagher in under three minutes to take home the title at 145. At 132, North’s Colby Cash beat Sleepy Hollow’s Edwin Jiminez 8-0 in the finals.
At 195, Clarkstown South’s Paul Okeke defeated Arlington’s Matt Day 4-3 for the division’s title.

College Sports Notebook:
Mavericks succeed on alumni day
Senior forward Talia Beaulieu of Waldorf, MD, hit the game-winning shot with just two seconds remaining as the Mercy College women’s basketball team beat NYIT, 75-74, in Dobbs Ferry to notch its second East Coast Conference (ECC) victory of the season.
The Mavericks (2-18, 2-9 ECC) hope to build up some steam when they host Dominican College (9-10, 9-4) tonight at 5:30 p.m.
Aysha Williams of New Rochelle had nine points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists in 22 minutes against NYIT, while Jessica Biggs of Nanuet saw only nine minutes of action, contributing two steals and a defensive rebound.
Nyack rallies, falls short
Four Warriors posted double figures in scoring as the Nyack College men’s basketball team put up a valiant effort before bowing to Chestnut Hill College, 81-76, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest in Philadelphia, PA.
Freshman guard Chris Hampton of Brooklyn led the way for Nyack with 21 points, a team-high seven assists and a team-high six rebounds.
Sophomore Jose Pena-Benjamin of Rahway, NJ, scored 18 points with a team-high three steals, while freshman Khalid Samuels of Mount Vernon followed his career high in scoring against Bloomfield with a 17-point performance.
Senior forward Lafayette Curtis of Staten Island had 13 points and two blocked shots in the losing effort.
Nyack goes back to the well tonight in Wilmington, DE, to battle Goldey-Beacom College (11-8) at 7 p.m.
