Albertus Magnus senior Tyler Sayre entered last night’s game against Spring Valley just 10 points away from breaking Antoine Duvert’s school scoring record set in 1994.

With 12 points in the first quarter Sayre eclipsed the mark and led the Falcons on their way to an easy 81-63 victory.
Sayre finished the game with 24 points and 13 rebounds and now stands alone atop the school’s record books.

Pat McGuinness led the Falcons with 26 points in the victory.
Spring Valley’s Kai Mitchell had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

Highlights: Maeve Parahus continues to lead the Falcons in scoring as she picked up 15 points in the blow out victory on Monday night. Stephanie Rodriguez led Spring Valley with 15.

Game: Clarkstown North vs. Pearl River
Score:
Highlights: Joe Clinton and Kevin Degnan each led the Pirates with 20 points in the win. Austin O’Toole added 15 points for Pearl River. Clarkstown North was led by Vinny Lleshaj’s 19 in the loss.

Score: North Rockland 221 - Ardsley 182 - Clarkstown 153
Highlights: Clarkstown’s Mike Kahn finished off the day in second place with a best time of 25.13.

Highlights: Clarkstown’s Veronika Czarnik finished off the day in sixth place with a best run of 31.02.

Score: Clarkstown 166.45 - Mahopac 165.3 – Somers 152.10
Highlights: Clarkstown’s Samantha Haber and Olivia Blanco took the top two spots for the day as Clarkstown narrowly beat out Mahopac for the divisional crown. Haber finished first in the vault and floor exercise while Blanco claimed the top spot on the balance beam.

College Sports Notebook:
Johnson, Shields power Pace
Forward Brittany Shields of Cold Spring and guard Carol Johnson of New City combined for 27 points and 23 rebounds as the Pace University women’s basketball team won its 16th game of the season in 53-42 fashion at the University of New Haven.
Shields, a Haldane graduate, scored 17 points, pulled down 17 rebounds and also had two steals, while Johnson, a graduate of Cardinal Spellman, scored 10 points and had six rebounds for the Setters (16-5, 13-4 NE-10).
Pace returns home to Pleasantville on Wednesday (Feb. 8) to host Southern Connecticut State (17-4) at 5:30 p.m.
Shields leads the Setters with 17.5 points per game while Johnson is second with 10 points per game.
New season, new hope
A new season brings renewed hope for the Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team
The Warriors--who went 3-13 overall last season including a 3-9 mark in the Atlantic Conference--have eight home games on the schedule at the Shangraw Athletic Complex in Williamsport, PA.
Lycoming starts the season with three home games, opening against Kean University of Union, NJ, on Saturday, March 3; the Warriors play their first road game against Misericordia University in Dallas, PA, on March 23.
Preparing for her second season as a starter is sophomore midfielder Sarah Quigley of New City.
The alumna of Clarkstown South, where she was an MVP in both track and field and lacrosse, started all 16 games last season, tying for fourth on the team in scoring with eight points on five goals and three assists.
