Disturbance at Ramapo Rest Stop Leads to DWI Charge
Police were called because two people in a Lexus SUV were being loud.

At about 1:38 a.m. Sept. 25, State Police were dispatched to the Ramapo Service Area on I-87 for a Lexus SUV with 2 patrons in the tandem lot being loud and causing a disturbance.
The driver of the vehicle, Atif Ali, 23 of Brooklyn, NY was found to be intoxicated. Ali was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.09 percent. Additionally, Ali was found to be in possession of marijuana. Ali was charged with:
- Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor
- Unlawful Possession Marijuana, Violation
Ali was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Ramapo Court on Oct. 22.
