The man then got into his car, which was parked in the 7-Eleven parking lot, and drove it forward striking the family members, police alleged. He then backed up and accelerated into the family again.

The suspect, also 35, was confronted at the scene by police officers. He was at that point brandishing a knife, police said.
He failed to comply with the officers' commands to drop the knife. They tased, subdued, and took him into custody.
Police did not identify the man, whom they charged with murder in the second degree (one count) and attempted murder in the second degree (seven counts).
The investigation is still ongoing and it is anticipated that several additional charges will be filed, police said.
