Another Thursday Evening at HSRC: US Army Curator of Art and US Army Artist in Residence
The Historical Society continues its popular lecture series “Another Thursday at HSRC” on August 11, 2011 at 7:00pm with a special presentation of Art in the Army. Sarah Forgey, Curator of the Art Collection at the US Army will introduce the Army Art Collection and discuss the history of the artist program from WWI to the present, showing examples of art from each period.
In addition, MSG Martin Cervantez, will discuss his experience as the Army's only Artist-in-Residence, showing photos from his deployments and examples of his artwork as well as his approach to the responsibility of documenting history.
The lecture will take place in The Community Room of the Historical Society of Rockland County, 20 Zukor Road in New City, NY The event is FREE, however, space is limited, please RSVP by August 9th to 845-634-9629
