Ex-Giants Star Lawrence Taylor Sentenced To 6 Years Probation For Sexual Misconduct
Taylor must register as a sex offender for the incident at Rockland County motel with 16-year-old female prostitute.

Former Giants star Lawrence J. Taylor was today sentenced in Rockland County Court to six years probation and must register as a sex offender because of his sexual encounter with a 16-year-old female prostitute in a Rockland County motel.
The sentencing brings to conclusion a saga that began in the early morning hours of May 6, 2010, when Taylor was arrested and charged with rape.
Taylor, 52, of 532 Enclave Circle East, Pembroke Pines, FL, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors, sexual misconduct and third-degree patronizing a prostitute, for improper sexual conduct involving the underage girl. In the incident at what was then the Holiday Inn Holidome in Montebello, Taylor was accused of paying the teen $300 after performing sexual acts.
Taylor originally pleaded not guilty to charges against him.
Taylor, as part of the sentencing, will be listed as a sex offender at a April 12 hearing in accordance with Megan’s Law, according to Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe. Taylor was also fined $2,000.

“This case has shone a spotlight on the dark underworld of sex trafficking,” Zugibe said. “By targeting ‘johns,’ such as this defendant, we can help to free victims from their abusers. We hope this sentence and subsequent sex offender registration will have a chilling effect on individuals who fuel the demand for commercial sex.”
The victim told investigators that she had been verbally threatened, physically assaulted and brought to the hotel room by her accused pimp, Rasheed Davis, who was arrested by the New York City Police Department and is currently facing federal charges.

“Sex trafficking is a violent and degrading crime that will not be tolerated,” Zugibe said.
Zugibe said that Taylor cooperated with the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office and U.S. Attorney in their ongoing probes into sex trafficking in the New York area in connection with the Rasheed Davis case.
