FBI Probes Death in Haverstraw

HAVERSTRAW, NY — The New York State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a death that occurred on at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday on Rosman Road in the Town of Haverstraw.

A man in a car was stopped by law enforcement personnel on Rosman Road at the intersection of Langschur Court. As officers approached the vehicle, the man took his own life, using a firearm, state police said.

Rosman Road is closed as forensic teams work on the scene.

State Police were assisted by the Rockland County Medical Examiner's Office.

The identity of the subject is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
