FC Clarkstown 98 Soccer Team Receives “Team of the Year” Award

Coaching staff similarly honored

The FC Clarkstown 98 boys’ soccer team received the “Team of the Year Award” at Saturday’s Clarkstown Soccer Club awards ceremony and picnic. The coach and assistant coaches of the boys’ 13-years-old and under team were presented with the “Coach of the Year” award during the event at Kennedy Dell Park in New City. 

The team had lost its bid earlier in June to become state champion when it played Dix Hills Elite in the soccer finals. The match at the LaGrange Soccer Complex ended in Elite’s favor 4 – 1.

Dix Hills scored a goal early in the game but by the 15th minute, FC Clarkstown evened the score. Dix Hills got its second goal just prior to halftime.

pushed hard during the second half and tried to push forward to score a tying goal.  However, in the last 15 minutes of playing time, Dix Hills got two more goals.

The players of FC Clarkstown 98 are: Dani Acevedo, Felix Benitez, Martin Boyle, Francesco D'Iorio, Moritz Eisold, Max Geuder, Adam Gloskin, Michael Helgesen, Jason Lee, Ian Leinbach, Justinian Michaels, Christopher Mulqueen, Quentin Van der lee, Cole Spagnoli and Tyler Yassky.

Seven of the team members are also NY Olympic Development players: Boyle, Eisold, Helgesen, Michaels, Spagnoli, Gloskin and Yassky

Steven Yassky coaches the team with assistant coaches Mark Lukas, Franks Fuchs, Richard Barrios and Dan Samimi Jr.
