Hi-Tor Animals Team up with Rockland Boulders
Perhaps the pets brought the team some luck as they beat New York Federals, 11-1.
The Hi-Tor Animal Care Center has teamed up with the Rockland Boulders in an effort to find homes for some of the fine animals currently residing at the shelter.
“Home Plate To Your Home,” was created to show the public just how wonderful, and available, these animals are. Saturday was the first “Parade of Pets” at Provident Bank Park.
When teams swapped sides in the middle of the second inning, Hi-Tor Animal Care Center representatives and volunteers marched a group of delightful doggies atop the Boulders’ dugout.

“This was all set up to try to bring attention to the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center,” said Hi-Tor Executive Director Vivian Kiggins. “The Boulders are our next door neighbors and we take it as a blessing. It presented us with an opportunity to get word out about the shelter and all of the wonderful animals we have available for adoption.”
Not only did the paraded pups receive a huge ovation from the crowd, they all remained beautifully behaved throughout. Volunteers walked the dogs around the park after the parade and they were as friendly up close as they were during the parade.

“We’re just hopeful that this exposure will help get more animals placed and let more people know that Hi-Tor even exists,” said Kiggins.
