Hudson Valley Forecast: Snow
There's a hazardous weather outlook out for Dutchess and Ulster counties, but this is different. Here are the details.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — In the brief window between a balmy 47-degree Tuesday and a return to balmy on Thursday, here's what we're going to get: a day of snow and rain.
The snow will fall on parts of the country that just had severe thunderstorms and record-breaking high temperatures. SEE: High Winds Leave Thousands Without Power In The Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service predicts a snow sandwich: 1-3 inches for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties, while on either side of them, southern Westchester, Dutchess and Ulster should only see about an inch.

Hudson Valley Weather called it "March Madness" on Facebook.
"Record High temps and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings will be followed by Snow tomorrow morning," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of HVW. "Snow may impact both the morning and evening commutes. Temps hovering near or above freezing may limit accumulation amounts and surfaces."

Road surfaces, warmed by the spate of springlike weather, are expected primarily to just be wet, Hudson Valley Weather said — but with a caveat. "Precipitation rates across southern zones may offset temps and lead to snow-covered roads, especially secondary, therefore best to remain cautious of commute conditions."

The snow will start to fall as the day starts on Wednesday. Rain is expected to mix in in the afternoon.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the mid-Hudson, but it's not for Wednesday's snow — it's for Saturday. A significant storm system will likely affect that part of the region over the weekend with rain and or snow and strong winds.
