Jed Baker 1 Day Conference on Helping Children with Special Needs Transition to Adulthood

Jed Baker Ph.D., award-winning author of 5 books on social skills training and frequent presenter nationally and internationally, is coming to the JCC Rockland on Wednesday April 30th, 2014 to give a 1 day conference forparents and professionals.  His talk, “Preparing for Real Life”, will focus on helping our children successfully transition to adulthood.  The conference is sponsored by Rockland Jewish Family Services (RJFS).

Dr. Baker will provide practical strategies to help children with autism, special needs and social-behavioral challenges make a successful transition to adulthood.  The talk is recommended for parents with and professionals who work with children of all ages in order to plan ahead for this exciting and challenging time in children’s lives.

Jed Baker, Ph.D. is the director of the Social Skills Training Project, a private organization serving individuals with autism and social communication problems. He is on the professional advisory board of Autism Today, ASPEN, ANSWER, YAI, the Kelberman Center and several other autism organizations. In addition, he writes, lectures, and provides training internationally on the topic of social skills training and managing challenging behaviors.
