New Business: Dry Cleaner Opens Near New Stop & Shop in New City

While the openings of the new Stop & Shop and Walgreen's in New City have gotten most of the attention, there's another new business opening in the same neighborhood.

New Image Cleaners, which is set to open Dec. 7, plans on offering a variety of cleaning services, including organic cleaning, tailoring, and laundry services for anything that is dry cleanable. The 100 percent eco-friendly cleaner also will have free pickup and delivery.

Siggy Jaron, the owner of the business, has plenty of experience owning and operating cleaners. He has previously has had cleaning establishments in New City, Spring Valley and Montvale, N.J.

"I've been operating cleaners for 40 years," said Jaron, who enjoys dealing with customers on a regular basis.

Jaron, who lives nearby in New City, said he chose this location for a variety of reasons.

"There is no better location then this one. (Before) the brand new Stop & Shop came, this was basically like an abandoned area, and after 15 years of abandonment, I was fortunate enough to get this location," he said.

Jaron is definitely someone who takes pride in his profession.

"I like operating cleaners because it's a service business and I like the camaraderie between customers," said Jaron.

The cleaners plan on giving customers a 30 percent discount on services provided through Jan. 31.
