New City Little League has another championship team. The league's 11-12 softball defeated Nanuet, 3-0, Friday night to caption the District 18 Little League crown. Pitcher Reese Guevarra had another strong outing, striking out 6 and just giving up 2 hits. In the district tournament, Reese pitched 27 innings and only gave up 3 runs. Sarah Brauer had a big hit Friday night for New City to knock in 2 runs and Gabby Palumbo knocked in the other run. New City continued to play strong defense with Carli "Coco" Solicito making some timely plays to keep Nanuet off the bases. New City moves onto to the Little League Sections, which take place in Beekman, NY, and will start Monday, July 4th, at 11 a.m.
