New City All-Stars Win First Game In Little League World Series
New City team stops Italian team, 7-1.

Sarah Brauer writes about today’s Little League World Series softball game and how the team is feeling (Update: The team just won its first game, stopping Italy 7-1 in regulation six innings of play).
We leave on the team bus for batting and fielding practice in 15 minutes. We are all pumped and can't wait to play our first game in the Little League World Series! Our game is against Milan, Italy at 5:00 New York time.

All the girls are thrilled and eager to get started on their next journey. The well wishes from back home are warming their hearts and pumping them up. Many friends, family and members of the community are excited to head to Lexington Grille and The Clubhouse to watch the games.
Even with the excitement, they are still mingling with all the different teams from other parts of the country and from around the world. Go East!

The will play in four pool games.
The East Region champions play the Lombardia Little League from Milano, Italy today at 5 p.m. east coast time. Saturday’s game is against the Wilkes County Little League from Wilkes County, NC and starts at 6 p.m. On Sunday, they play the Muntinlupa Little League from Muntinlupa City, Philippines at 8 p.m. The final pool game is on Monday versus the Willow Creek Little League from Portland, OR at 11 p.m.

UPDATE: A fly to first by Italy and nice grab by Sarah Brauer brings out number three in the bottom of the sixth ining and gives New City a 7-1 victory over Lombardia.
