The New City Little League 11/12 girls softball team heads up to Beekman, NY, tonight for the championship round of the Section 4 softball tournament after their 11-3 win over Bewster on Wednesday. In the win over Brewster in Beekman, Melanie Lerche had 2 hits and 4 RBIs, with one of the hits a bases loaded double that cleared the bases. Sarah Brauer had a double that knocked in 2 runs and Sara Herskowitz continued her hot hitting with 2 more hits. Madison Borenkoff made a great defensive play to force Brewster into an inning ending double play. Today's game is at 6 p.m. in Beekman.
