New City Post Office Named After Late Assemblyman Zebrowski
Zebrowski family joined by many at naming of the Kenneth Peter Zebrowski Post Office Building.
Congressman Eliot Engel joined members of the Zebrowski Family as the New City Post Office was renamed Monday the Kenneth Peter Zebrowski Post Office Building in honor of the late state assemblyman.
“Ken Zebrowski was someone whose friendship I valued.” said Engel, who introduced the legislation in the House of Representatives. “More significantly, he was a great representative and a true leader for Rockland County and for New York. He was a determined advocate for education, health care, and the environment.”
"This is a great honor and will serve as a symbol of my husband's legacy of service and love for his community,” said his wife, Linda Zebrowski. “Ken was so appreciative of the opportunity to represent Clarkstown and Haverstraw and worked every single day to improve life for Rockland County families. This would have meant the world to him.”

Zebrowski’s son and daughter agreed the selection of the post office at 245 North Main Street fit with their father’s legacy as a dedicated member of the community.
"My father dedicated his life to family, service, and community,” said his daughter, Kristen Zebrowski Stavisky. “The Post Office was one of his favorite spots and became an outpost constituent office. My Dad stopped in at least once a day and relished the opportunity to talk to people: the staff, constituents, and friends.”

“He loved bouncing around town and chatting with friends, neighbors and constituents at local shops and restaurants,” said his son, Ken Zebrowski, the current assemblyman. “To have a neighborhood fixture like the Post Office renamed in his honor is an amazing tribute."
Congressman Engel said the naming was in recognition of Zebrowski’s many legislative accomplishments and community commitment
Zebrowski’s three decades of public service began with his election to the Rockland County Legislature when he was 27-years old. He served as chair of the legislature for four terms and was elected to the State Assembly’s 94th District in 2005. When he died in 2007, Zebrowski had 102 bills pending for stronger public schools, greater environmental protections, and improved access to health care.
