New City Runners Among Tens of Thousands In ING New York City Marathon

Perfect weather greeted the runners in the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday.  Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya set a new course record of 2:05:06. The first female finisher of the 26.2-mile course through all five boroughs was Firehiwot Dado of Ethiopia in 2:23:15.

They were among 45,000 entrants from all over the world. They were entered in the race, which has been described as a “26 mile long block party” with cheering fans and spectators and music.
