New City Shooting Linked To NYC-Westchester Police Chase
The start of the police investigation was a crash and shooting reported by neighbors.
NEW CITY, NY — A police chase Saturday afternoon that started in the Bronx and ended in a crash on the Bronx River Parkway in Westchester County is possibly connected to a Friday shooting in Rockland County, police said.
The car crashed in Bronxville, The Journal News reported.
Clarkstown police had been looking for a white sedan for a day. The start of their investigation was a crash and shooting reported by neighbors and followed by the arrival at Montefiore Nyack Hospital by a gunshot victim who had driven himself there.

"A vehicle of interest in regards to the shooting was observed by the NYPD in the Bronx, NY, and subsequently stopped by those units," said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters. "It is yet to be determined if the occupants of the vehicle had any involvement in yesterday’s shooting. "
Clarkstown police said they want to thank the NYPD for their assistance during this investigation. The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840.
