No Jail Likely For Woman Who Left Scene Of Fatal Accident
The man died of his injuries a month later.

CONGERS, NY — The Congers woman charged earlier this year in a hit-and-run that killed a man will likely not go to jail. Jodi Sarf, 48, of Congers, pleaded guilty July 5 to misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death without reporting it.
An investigation concluded she didn’t cause the crash, the Journal News said, and she is expected to receive a year’s probation, a $500 fine and a license suspension of six months.
On Dec. 19, 2017, Manuel Aguaiza, 40, of New City, was crossing Route 304 at Third Street around 10:30 p.m.

He was hit by a dark-colored SUV which fled the scene.
Aguaiza was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries a month later.

The following day the 2015 Mercedes Benz SUV was located, and Sarf was eventually arrested after a lengthy criminal investigation.
An accident reconstruction concluded she wasn’t driving at an excessive rate of speed, and no evidence found she was drunk while driving that night, the Journal News said.
