Arrest In Fatal Hit-and-Run on Route 304
The Congers woman accused by Clarkstown police turned herself in Monday.

A Congers resident is accused in the hit-and-run on Dec. 19, 2017 that caused the death of Manuel Aguaiza of New City. Clarkstown police arrested her Monday.
Aguaiza was crossing Route 304 at Third Street at about 10:30 p.m. when he was struck by a dark colored SUV vehicle. The dark-colored SUV fled the scene heading southbound on Rt. 304. The 40-year-old was transported to Nyack Hospital with severe injuries. He later died.
The next day, the Clarkstown Detective Bureau located the vehicle involved in the incident, a 2015 Mercedes Benz SUV.

After a lengthy criminal investigation the detective assigned to the case arrested Jodi Sarf, 48.
Sarf and her attorney surrendered to the police this morning, police said Monday. She was processed and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury resulting in death, a felony.

Sarf was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and was released on her own recognizance. She will return to court March 26.
