MONSEY, NY — A two-story house is now uninhabitable due to a fire that caused severe damage on Forshay Road in Monsey July 17. Officials said several volunteer firefighters suffered smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion from trying to fight the blaze in 92-degree heat.

Fire investigators are concentrating on a large indoor commercial kitchen in the back of the house for the cause of the fire, according to the Journal News.

The front portion of the structure had less damage, but because of smoke, water and fire the entire home is uninhabitable, authorities said.
