One Tank Adventure: Woodstock Wanderings
Wandering through Woodstock makes for a fun day whether you're looking for antiques, browsing through a bookstore or dining at a local cafe.
Woodstock has been called the most famous small town in the world and it owes its fame to a music festival that happened somewhere else. The famous 1969 Woodstock Music Festival actually happened in a field close to the nearby town of Bethel. Despite not being the actual home of the festival, the town has demonstrated a magnetic appeal for artists and that artistic energy is evident in the town's many craft shops, galleries, theaters and events.
Woodstock's main road, Tinker Street, happily marries artistry with small town charm. The street offers plenty of places to browse in, including the Golden Notebook independent book store, the Center for Photography, plus multiple crafts and antique shops and stores that sell tie-dyed wares.
