Pair Caught with 15 Pounds of Marijuana: Police

The arrests occurred Saturday night in Stony Point.

Two men were arrested on felony drug charges in Stony Point Saturday after police found 15 pounds of marijuana in their possession, according to authorities.

Arrested were Jerome Marrero, 34, of Stony Point, and Giovanni Resto, 25, of Murrieta, California, reports The Journal News.

Police were called to a home on Tomkins Avenue late Saturday night on a report of a stolen car, and as officers approached they saw Marrero and Resto attempting to run away. Cops had seen the two carting large bags of what turned out to be marijuana into the house.

In addition to several packages of marijuana, police also seized more than $8,000 in cash from the home. A 10-year-old girl also was inside the house at the time - the child of the girlfriend of one of the suspects - and that woman also was charged with child endangerment.
