Piermont PAL 12U Yankees Post Winning Record in Cooperstown

Team post 5 - 4 record in 104-team event

The Piermont PAL 12U team traveled to historic Cooperstown to compete in a-104 team tournament that included top teams from across the country and Canada. The Piermont 12U Yankees posted an impressive 5-4 record with victories coming against teams from Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Chicago, Connecticut and Syracuse. 

The Piermont team played nine games over a four-day period. On the final day with three back-to-back games, they defeated Chicago’s Welles Park and had an impressive 9 - 3 victory versus #43 ranked Syracuse Stars. Piermont dropped the third game of the day in a tough 9 - 8 loss to the #22nd ranked Clinton Stars from North Carolina that ended their tournament run.

The potent Piermont offense averaged over seven runs a game and was key to recording five victories. The offense was lead by Mike Hess, Daniel Marcillo, Tommy Mauatore, Liam McCullough, Dillon Krok and Brandon Cangro and included home run support from; Daniel Marcillo (5), Mike Hess (3), Jack Anderson (2), Dillion Krok (1) and Steven Rizutto (1).

The offense was backed by stellar defense lead by second baseman Robbie Spuler, Max Gogats (first base and outfield), Steven Rizutto (right field), Jack Anderson (first base) and Anthony Margiotta (outfield and catching).  Stephen McCullough, Bobby Cangro and Rob Spuler coach the Piermont 12U Yankees. All the players are from Clarkstown.
