The incident occurred in December 2017 when a 7-year-old was walking to her bus stop.

NEW CITY, NY — The Clarkstown Police Department is trying to locate a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident that happened last year. Police said that Carlos Osvaldo Garcia-Gonzalez, 26, was driving an unregistered 2004 black Acura TL when he struck and seriously injured a 7-year-old child around 8:05 a.m. Nov. 21, 2017 in the vicinity of Lakewood Drive and Lakeland Avenue in Congers.

The child was walking to her school bus stop at the time. She appeared to have a broken leg when first-responders got to the scene and was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Police said Garcia-Gonzalez left the area without stopping and without concern for the child’s condition.
