Rockland Porta Potty Firm Cited For Health Code Violations

The owner now faces fines of up to $2,000 a day.

WEST HAVERSTRAW, NY — After a neighbor of the controversial portable toilet company John-to-Go reached out to County Executive Ed Day over the weekend, inspectors from the Rockland County Department of Health visited the business on Carol Avenue Tuesday.

The company says on its website that it has the best porta potty and restroom rentals in the tri-state area.

Village Mayor Robert D'Amelio told News 12 the company is only supposed to make and sell portable johns. He said eviction proceedings are ongoing in court.

Rockland's health inspectors wrote up several violations of the Sanitary Code and now the owners face fines of $2000 per day/per violation.

Spokesman John Lyon released this statement:

Inspectors from the Rockland County Department of Health visited the site yesterday after receiving a compliant Monday. Several violations of the Sanitary Code were found and if they are not corrected within 24 hours the company will be fined $2000 per violation/per day.
