Changes for July 4th Game

The Rockland Boulders on Thursday also announced a time change to their home game on Monday, July 4 against the Newark Bears at Provident Bank Park.

The game will now begin at a special time of 5:05 p.m., instead of the normal 7:05 p.m. start.  This will be the first ever Independence Day celebration at Provident Bank Park.  It’s Dollar Dog day at the ballpark as well. Small hot dogs (kosher dogs included) and Coca-Cola will be available for just $1.00 for Monday’s game.

“We made the time change after numerous requests from our fans.  This will allow them to have their 4th of July picnic, attend a Boulders game and still be able to watch fireworks at their traditional location,” said Shawn Reilly, Executive Vice President of the Boulders

There will not be a fireworks display after Monday’s game.  All previously purchased tickets for the game will be honored.  Fans who purchased tickets for the 7:05 p.m. start and cannot attend the earlier game should contact the Boulders ticket office at 845-364-0009.

Tryouts For Dance Squad

The Rockland Boulders’ dance team, the Rockland Roll, will be holding open tryouts at the St. Lawrence Center Bubble in Hillburn, New York on Friday at 11:00 a.m.  Check-in will begin at 10 a.m.

The Rockland Roll is looking to add both male and female dancers who are available to perform at the remaining Rockland Boulders home games.  Anyone trying out must be at least 18 years of age and have prior dance experience.

The Rockland Roll dance team performs multiple choreographed dance routines during each game and is expected to interact with the crowd while not preforming, including taking pictures with fans, throwing t-shirts into the stands, leading cheers and acting as ambassadors to the Rockland Boulders.

Dancers in attendance will be taught a routine by Dance Manager Megan Clancy and judged based upon how quickly the dance routine is learned, how well the routine is performed and the dancer’s enthusiasm.  All dancers are required to have a friendly, outgoing personality.

In addition to the dance tryout, a short one-on-one interview is also required for all dancers before the final cut is made.

The Rockland Roll is an internship-based team offering college credit to any students that tryout.  The team also will accept volunteers who have a passion for dance or looking to pursue a future career in dance.
