SPECIAL PROGRAM -- Moving Ahead: Effective Water Planning Approaches
Two regions have developed programs to protect and manage regional water resources through task force planning. Can Rockland do the same?

The Rockland County Task Force on Water Resources Management will host a special presentation, “Moving Ahead: Effective Water Planning Approaches,” by Dr. Daniel Van Abs, who will discuss how two regions in New Jersey have developed programs to protect and manage regional water resources through task force planning, as well as lessons from similar efforts. The public is invited to attend.
The Rockland Water Task Force, chaired by Legislator Harriet Cornell, is working to identify the best ways to conserve and protect our water, so that demand doesn’t outpace supply and the need for new sources can be prevented or delayed. This strategy will include use of water-efficient appliances, water audits, a comprehensive conservation implementation plan and more. Information about the successes of the New Jersey effort could present possible solutions that Rockland County may want to explore. Dr. Abs is considered an expert on water resources and water infrastructure issues. His credentials follow below.
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. Monday, March 27.
