Stony Point Overpowers Wallkill In Race for 11-Year-Olds Softball State Championship

Team remains undefeated in tournament play.

Led by the pitching of Victoria Alonzo and Brianna Williams, the 11-year-old Stony Point girls All Stars softball team continued its run for the state championship.

In game 1 of the Section 4 championship, held at the Stanley Still Sports Complex in Poughkeepsie, Stony Point outscored Wallkill, 22-0. The bats for Stony Point exploded and Wallkill failed to produce any runs in a game that ended after just 4 innings with the “mercy” rule.

Both Williams and Alonzo combined for a no-hitter. Offensively, Celia Santini and Bella Chiorazzi went 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs and Leann Pulcino went 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs.
