Town Board Suspends Woodbury Police Chief Richard Vasquez
Vasquez is running for Rockland County Sheriff, which the board believes is interfering with his responsibilities in the town.

The Woodbury Town Board has suspended Police Chief Richard Vasquez for 30 days because trustees believe his campaigning for the post of Rockland County Sheriff was interfering with his town duties, reports News 12.
Vasquez is running against the incumbent county sheriff, Louis Falco, and the suspension reportedly could be the first move toward terminating Vasquez’s employment.
Neither Vasquez nor the board have commented publicly on the suspension.
