A truck on the Thruway struck the Hungry Hollow Road overpass on Wednesday afternoon. Thruway traffic southbound was clogged for hours. At 3 p.m. Ramapo police shut down that section of the road at the request of the New York State Police. By 9:30 p.m. Ramapo police warned local drivers that the overpass would stay closed till a thorough damage assessment had been completed. To reach Hungry Hollow Road, use Margetts Road and Chestnut Ridge Road as alternatives.
