The North Shore Kayak Club will hold its annual kayaking clinic, targeted to novice recreational kayakers, and those interested in learning more about the sport, on Tuesday, June 17th. It will begin promptly at 7:00 PM, at the Town Dock in Port Washington (specifically at the bottom of the ramp, to the left of the fishing pier when facing the water).
Among the items to be covered are: the different types of basic equipment, including kayak and paddle options; the proper way to enter and exit a kayak; basic paddling strokes; and, necessary safety gear and precautions. This will be a demonstration and lecture, so it is not necessary to bring any equipment. There is no charge for this event.
Instruction, given on land and in water, will be provided by North Shore Kayak Club officer, Seth Ehrlich.
