Letter to the Editor: Thanks for Making Golden Age Luncheon a Success

Sandy Portnoy offers thanks to participating organizations at Temple Tikvah.

Sisterhood's recent Golden Age luncheon was a five-star experience for the more than 100 guests who came from nursing and veterans' homes and low-income residences.

Thanks to all who donated items for the goody bags, provided desserts, and volunteered their time. A special thank you to musical guests, Cantor Guy Bonne, Jay Beber, and the children from Harbor Day Care for their performance of songs.

Thank you to Rabbi Randy Sheinberg for emcing the event and performing the motzi, to Tony and Julio for helping to set up and clean up the ballroom, to Brothehood for donating the drinks and ice cream, and to the Mitzvah Day folks for their artwork. A special thank to Joe from Gourmet Bakery for donating the challahs. Thanks also to Keith and Bobby from Dynamic Events for catering the luncheon, to Ridgewood Savings Bank and the Nassau County Dental Society for donating goodies, and to King Kullen and Stop N' Shop for their gift certificates for goody bag items.

Remember, please save your toiletry samples from vacations and the note cards you receive in the mail for next year's luncheon the first Thursday in May.

Temple Tikvah, A Center for Reform Judaism in New Hyde Park, is located on the NassauQueens border and serves communities in Eastern Queens and Western Nassau.
