"The Philadelphia Story" Launches Fall Radio Dramas

Radio comedy with songs from the era re-launches unique partnership between Port Washington Play Troupe and WCWP (88.1FM).

Play Troupe‘s Fall Radio Drama Series, produced in ongoing partnership with WCWP (88.1 FM, the community public radio station of LIU Post), launches Saturday, September 27 at 1:00pm with The Philadelphia Story.

The performance will be recorded in front of a live studio audience at the Hillwood Recital Hall, a venue of the Tilles Center at LIU Post (720 Northern Boulevard, Greenvale, NY 11548), for later broadcast.

Based on the play by Philip Barry and the subsequent film, The Philadelphia Story is a 1942 radio comedy about a witty divorcee caught between her ex-husband, her new fiancé, and a tabloid reporter sent to cover her society wedding. Play Troupe & WCWP’s performance will include great songs of the era, including “Sentimental Journey,” ”I Remember You,” ”Too Marvelous,” and “I’ve Got the World on a String.”

Studio audience tickets are $10. Please note that all sales at the door will be cash-only. Tickets are available for purchase online in advance at: http://tpswcwp.bpt.me/
