Report: Glen Cove Teen Fatally Struck by Car in Conn. While Trying to Help People Whose Car Broke Down
Accident occurred in Stamford early Saturday morning.

Connecticut State Police are investigating a four-car crash on I-95 in Stamford that killed a Glen Cove teen and injured four others early Saturday, according to a report.
State Police told WTNH that Derian Garaicoa-Ortega, 18, had pulled over to help people whose car had broken down in the right lane of southbound I-95 near Exit 6, just before 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 1.

Three good Samaritans, including Garaicoa-Ortega, and one occupant of the broken down vehicle were standing behind one of the cars when a car traveling in the right lane crashed into the broken down car, according to the report.
The impact caused one of the cars to strike Garaicoa-Ortega, who was pronounced dead, according to the report.
