'Spooky Walk' in Nearby Albertson

Children will get special stargazing opportunity Friday; the not-so-spooky walk is Sunday. The fun takes place at Clark Botanic Gardens.

Ghosts, ghouls, goblins, swamp monsters and many of their gruesome friends will inhabit the 12-acre park at Clark Botanic Garden on Friday and Saturday from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

That’s when visitors can experience a smoggy, spine-tingling walk through the realm of fear and frightat the garden. The cost of admission is $5 per person; groups of ten or more can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $3 per person.

On Friday, telescopes, exhibits and hands-on activities will be provided for star-gazing children by Hofstra University’s Astronomy Outreach Program in partnership with the Amateur Observer’s Society of New York. Equipment is funded through a NASA astronomy outreach grant to Hofstra University and will allow children to see close-up views of the planets, and colorful double stars. Rain date will be Saturday.

Spooky Walk may not be suitable for young children, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Younger children can enjoy the not-so-spooky-walk on Sunday, Oct. 26th, from 12-4 p.m. Not-so-spooky-walk’s price of admission is $3 per person.

Featuring more than 12-acres of planted, manicured grounds, Clark Botanic Garden, is located at 193 I.U. Willets Road in Albertson.
