2 Westchester Men Behind Brutal Police Lieutenant Subway Assault: NYPD
24-year-old New Rochelle resident Brian Innocent and 24-year-old Yonkers resident Marquise Webb are now facing a slew of felony charges.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Two Westchester County residents were arrested in connection to an attack on an on-duty NYPD officer, according to police officials.
According to multiple news outlets, the NYPD lieutenant was assaulted by the two Westchester men on Saturday, while officers tried to clear a 1 train in the Bronx after an argument.
Officers initially responded to the scene after reports of a disturbance over a knife at the 238th St. station in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx, shortly before 10 p.m. An MTA conductor reportedly told officers that one of four men on the train may have had a knife.

One of the groups left the train at 231st St., while officers tried to clear trains at 238th St.
The lieutenant was then repeatedly punched in the head and face by two men, according to police.

NYPD says that the suspects then ran onto the tracks in an attempt to flee. Officers, including the lieutenant who had just been attacked, were able to apprehend and arrest them. The suspects were found to have a knife, box cutter and straight razor in their possession.
Lieutenant Gypsy Pichardo was taken to St. Barnabas for lacerations. According to ABC 7 NY, the 16-year veteran officer was left with a battered face and eight stitches to his left eye.

The charges include assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, harassment, obstructing governmental administration, criminal trespassing, and disorderly conduct. Innocent was also charged with fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.
According to a NY Post report, the two men were arraigned Sunday night in Bronx Criminal Court, and were then taken to Rikers Island on $40,000 cash bail/$120,000 bond.
