3 More New Rochelle Schools Have Lead-Contaminated Water

The affected drinking fountains have been turned off and bottled water has been supplied to students and staff.

New Rochelle, NY — Three more New Rochelle schools now have drinking fountains that cannot be used because of elevated lead levels.

In a letter to parents, Superintendent Brian G. Osborne said that the expansion to other schools of testing water indicated levels of lead above the EPA’s recommended level at certain drinking fountains at Barnard Early Childhood Center, Ward Elementary School and Jefferson Elementary School.
