Bronx Woman Sets Westchester Bar On Fire, Tries To Flee In Uber: Cops
The woman returned with a can of gas after an earlier dispute with bar staff early this morning, police said.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A bizarre incident at a New Rochelle nightspot ended with a fizzle and a Bronx woman in custody.
The New Rochelle Police Department says that shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the Drake Main Café, on Drake Ave. and Main Street, after a report that an arson had just taken place.
The owner of the bar told police that a dispute occurred earlier in the evening between the arson suspect and the bar's staff, after which the suspect left the property.

However, she returned shortly after with a gas can and proceeded to pour gas on the outside walls of the bar and the entryway, and then lit them on fire before fleeing the scene.

The owner was able to quickly extinguish the fire and no injuries were reported.
Officers located the suspect attempting to flee in an Uber, and she was then taken into custody.
32-year-old Freissy Batista-Pereya, of the Bronx, was charged with felony second degree arson, felony first degree reckless endangerment, and felony third degree criminal mischief.
