The College of New Rochelle's Kevona Jackson Named Softball All-Independent

The College of New Rochelle freshman Kevona Jackson has been recognized as Second Team All-Independent Utility Player.

The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) has announced its 2015 All-Independent Softball team, and The College of New Rochelle freshman Kevona Jackson (Yonkers, NY/Lincoln) has been recognized as Second Team All-Independent Utility Player.

Jackson adds this honor to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-HVIAC status she was awarded earlier. Playing primarily first base but also seeing time at each infield position, as well as outfield and in the circle, Jackson paced the Blue Angels in batting average, home runs, triples, runs scored, runs batted in, slugging percentage, on base percentage and stolen bases, and reached base safely in 17 of her 21 games played..

This marks the seventh consecutive season that a Blue Angel has achieved All-Independent Softball status.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of seven Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Association provides statistical services for its members in seven sports. In addition, it will announce All-Independent teams at the conclusion of eight other sports this year.
