Dems May Have Viable Chance To Flip County District 11
Jim Maisano, who is now Consumer Protection director, held the seat easily for years even though Democrats outnumber Republicans.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Democrats may have the best chance in a long time for flipping another county legislator seat that has long been held by Republicans April 24. The special election was called because Jim Maisano became director of the county Department of Consumer Protection after George Latimer elected county executive.
Democrat Terry Clements, a first-grade teacher at Columbus School in New Rochelle, is running against attorney and former New Rochelle City Council candidate James Freeman, a Republican, to represent District 11, which is comprised of parts of New Rochelle and Pelham, lohud.com said.
The April 24 special election will also see a decision made for the state Senate seat Latimer vacated when he won the county executive election in November.
