Damage from Superstorm Sandy is still being repaired in New Rochelle.
The barge and crane seen at the dock at Neptune Park on Long Island Sound is working on a Federal Emergency Management Agency project at the city-owned property, said Parks and Recreation Commissioner William Zimmermann.
"There was significant damage to the piles underneath the dock," he said. "We are repositioning everything and making it safer."
Zimmermann said the piles are being anchored into the rock under the sea bed.
"Future storms won't be able to move them off the anchor," he said.
The dock is also the site from which excursions and fishing trips by the Shamrock and Klondike leave through a licensing agreement with the city.
