Wendy Guagenti at New Rochelle’s Poet’s Corner

The Poet's Corner in New Rochelle will be hosting "an evening of art, poetry and performance by Wendy Renée Bernadette Guagenti Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. at 570 Main Street.

Her original paintings and copies of her recently-published book, "Gifts from Within: Telepathically-received works from a student's journey" will be available for purchase.

According to a bio supplied by The Poet's Corner, "Guagenti earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in communication design from Parsons The
New School for Design, and was formerly employed as a creative director, art director, graphic designer and illustrator for various large and small companies. But, she says, her true education—both as an artist and as a person—did not begin until 1987 when she met Guru Madeleine, founder and president of the S.E.L.F. (Sane Enlightened Life Force) Motivation Program. Guru Madeleine teaches and models that true education means learning to listen telepathically to the Inner Teacher—the God within—so that we become less afraid to be the unique, healthy, creative people we were born to be…. Ms. Guagenti's book is dedicated to her spiritual teacher, without whom she says she wouldn't be here today."

She works as an art teacher for the New York City Department of Education.

At the event, she will read from her book, and will also be joined by other musicians and dancers from The Poet's Corner.
