Ex-New Rochelle Teacher Faces New Charges, Including Rape
He had been arrested and charged in October on a single count of felony third-degree criminal sex act.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The former New Rochelle teacher who was accused in October of engaging in a sexual act with a child was arraigned on new charges, including rape. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Thursday that John Fraioli, 34, of White Plains, was charged with the following:
- Five counts of third-degree rape, felonies
- Five counts of third-degree criminal sexual act, felonies
Prosecutors said Fraioli had sexual relations with a teenager in his White Plains home on five occasions from June through October.
He was arrested and charged in October in New Rochelle for sexual activity with the same child victim while employed as a teacher at New Rochelle High School.

Authorities said he engaged in a sexual act with the child in the school building during school hours last spring.
The investigation continued and led to further charges, prosecutors said.

Fraioli resigned from his teaching position in June. He was released on bail which was posted earlier.
His next court appearance will be scheduled in Westchester County Court.
