Farmer’s Market Coupons Available to Qualifying New Ro Seniors

From the City of New Rochelle:

Seniors looking to stretch their food budgets this summer and fall may be entitled to discount Farmers Market Coupons, now available at the Hugh A. Doyle Senior Center.

To be eligible, individuals must be 60 years of age or older and have a monthly income at or below $1,678/single, $2,267/couple or be currently receiving or eligible to receive SSI, Food Stamps, Public Assistance or Section 8 housing subsidy.

The checkbook-style coupons will be distributed while supplies last beginning Friday, July 22, at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center, 94 Davis Ave., in New Rochelle from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m.  Proof of age and New Rochelle residency are required. Applicants must come in person to sign affidavit. One coupon per married couple.

The coupons are valid at the , located at Library Green every Friday through summer and fall to November 15, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Farmer’s Market features a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and specialty foods.
