Former New Rochelle Councilman Judge Dies

Judge served on the New Rochelle City Council for 12 years.

Former New Rochelle Councilman and longtime city resident Francis X. Judge died Sunday. He was 80. 

Francis served on the City Council for 12 years. 

He was born on April 6, 1932, in Brooklyn, to the late Francis X. and Anne (Mahoney) Judge.

Judge graduated from Fordham University and New York University School of Dentistry. He received his certification in orthodontics from Columbia University and maintained a private practice for over 40 years.

He played water polo player, having won the National Championships twice with his NYAC teammates. Judge coached the water polo team—a program that he started—at Fordham and was in inducted into the Fordham University Hall of fame in 1985.

Judge is survived by his wife of 56 years, Emilie M. (Winson), sister Marla O'Reilly, 11 children, 20 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sheila Egan. 

Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl,. in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at St. Francis DeSales Cemetery in Elka Park, NY.
