Gunshot Fired Through Wall Into Adjoining New Rochelle Apartment
A 56-year-old man was arrested for reckless endangerment in connection with the scary incident at a downtown residential building.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Gunfire from a next door neighbor's apartment passed through a wall into a downtown New Rochelle home, police said.
On Wednesday, shortly before 6:30 p.m., New Rochelle police were called to Lawton Street on a report that a gunshot was fired inside an apartment and went through an adjoining wall and had entered another occupied apartment.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

New Rochelle police officers and detectives secured the area and made attempts to contact the resident of the apartment where the shot came from. After a short time, police were able to speak to the man who lives by himself in the apartment. Daniel DaSilva eventually exited his home and was taken into custody, police said.
The 56-year-old was charged with felony reckless endangerment. Police said the investigation is continuing and a full search for evidence is planned today after a search warrant is issued. Additional charges may be added after the search for evidence is completed. Based on the damage between the apartments, police said the weapon used is believed to be a shotgun.
