Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Parts Of Hudson Valley

An accumulating snow is a possibility if a low pressure system shifts slightly to the west.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Meteorologists are still watching two storms trying to determine whether parts of the Hudson Valley will see any significant snow for the first time this season. The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

For Thursday through Tuesday, there is the potential for 1 to 2 inches of snow late Friday night into Saturday in southeast New York, as well as eastern Long Island and southeast Connecticut.

An offshore low pressure system will pass to the south and east.

The NWS said a westward shift in the track — although a low probability as of Wednesday evening — would bring a heavier snowfall event to the coast and an accumulating snow across the interior and the New York City metro area.
