Jasmine Brandon Repeats As AD3I and HVIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

For the second consecutive week, The College of New Rochelle’s Jasmine Brandon (Jersey City, NJ/St. Anthony HS) has received multiple conference honors. The sophomore center has been named Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC), it was released Tuesday by the respective conference offices.

Brandon posted another strong offensive week in helping lead The College of New Rochelle to a pair of non-conference victories, highlighted by a record-breaking performance in an overtime victory at Albertus Magnus College. In CNR's first ever win over the Falcons, the sophomore center broke her own school record, pouring in 47 points, with 32 coming in the second half and overtime. She added a game-high 17 rebounds for her ninth double-double on the season. Brandon's scoring total -- the highest single-game effort for an NCAA Division III woman this season -- is her third 40-plus scoring day for the 2013-14 campaign. On the week, Brandon averaged 25.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per contest.

In the latest NCAA statistical rankings (through games of January 19), the St. Anthony HS graduate ranks fourth in NCAA DIII in points per game, 15th in double-doubles, 41st in rebounds per game and 43rd in field goal percentage.
